Breakup survival DIY tips

Grieving over your lost love for a short time is understandable, but if you linger too long, your friends will eventually get tired of hearing you talk about your ex and advise you to "get over it."

Getting over it. Easy to say. Much harder to do and no wonder, because there's a bio-chemical reason behind the desperation and despair.

The following Do it Yourself tips may help

  • 1.Meditate
  • 2.Exercise Vigorously
  • 3.Dump the Junk food
  • 4.Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, In times of stress, having a drink may be tempting, but doing so will only cause you to spiral down into a depression faster after the effect has worn-off
  • 5.Use the sleeping pills & mood enhancers in moderations & under physician's advise
  • 6.Resist the urge to gobble down chocolate, sweets, ice-cream etc, you'll only end up feeling worse about yourself, lose sleep and gain weight
  • 7.Practice yoga & deep breathing.
  • 8.Eat healthfully and regularly
  • 9.Get plenty of sleep
  • 10.Try practicing EFT[Emotional freedom techniques], see my blog on how to handle stress in my other website
  • 11.Try to feel the pain with full consciousness & talk to yourself about how you are feeling & how it is hurting & then use the EFT again
  • 12.Weep openly, let the tears flow freely
  • 13.Express you anger by shouting at God, he can take it
  • 14.Write you experience of pain on a blog
  • 15.Get acquainted with people who have been there, done that & successfully overcome their grief
  • 16.Surround yourself with positive, caring, good listening well-wishers
  • 17.Spend time in Nature, learn to enjoy the freshness of before sunrise & after
  • 18.Go for a picnic with your best friend
  • 19.Learn the dance meditation
  • 20.Make a list of why this relationship was good riddance, your very own relationship gratitude journal
  • 21.Be grateful for the people you have discovered in your this grief who ate true friends
  • 22.Get enrolled with charitable causes that have deep impact on people who are helpless, destitute, and needy
  • 23.Start reading & listening to motivational tapes
  • 24.Do not try to sit & brood, instead do something creative
  • 25.Don't overanalyze, If it didn't work out, it didn't work out
